julies.NET recommends the Opera Web Browser

I began using Opera while I was learning to use Cascading Style Sheets to create web pages. At a website called PositionIsEverything.NET, I read an interview with Big John of CSS fame and decided to investigate why he used Opera to design sites. Then I came across a site called Thirty Days to becoming an Opera Seven Lover. The evidence was indisputable so I downloaded and began using the tabbed browser immediately. The tabs prevented the popups from being disturbing while surfing. I also downloaded a free skin called Breeze II that gave me the exact minimalist look I wanted for my browser. With a mouse click, I can show or hide the panels on the right of my screen that contain the History, Bookmarks, Search. One of my favorite features is the Links Panel. With a quick click, I can see and then check all the links on any one page of my website. Another nice feature is the Notes, which I use to remind myself of miscellaneous important information.

Now I run Opera right beside Internet Explorer without any problems on my Windows 98se machine. I continue to use IE for the sake of checking my website in a different browser and because I prefer the ease of offline browsing, a feature I'm going to have to fix in Opera. I saw an add-on to enhance browsing the cache that could improve this one drawback in Opera's browsers.

For now, I use the version of Opera that has text ads but have joined the affiliate program to use my earnings to purchase Opera. SO PLEASE - if you decide to get Opera, tell them I sent you!

Apparently my info is now outdated. JUST found out - so I apologize for that. Check here: HERE for more correct info on Opera. Update: 2007.10.17
